There has been unexplained change of shipping rates over here in Italy and what we did in the past we simply set a fixed amount therefore we didn’t have to keep updating the rates over and over again. We did this to avoid confusions to our regular customers who are already used with the usual rates and not to shock new customers with the rate that might seem overly higher than what it seemed should be.
Certain events in Malaysia had caused the currency (RM) to plummet but we had to keep the same shipping rate at all costs by ‘helping’ our customers pay for the extra Euros on every parcel WITHOUT even increasing the prices of our products. We received much lesser profit, in fact, sometimes we did not get any profit at all.
Unfortunately, today PosteItaliane just slammed us with another bad news making it much harder for us to keep up.
The image on the left shows Euro 24.95 for up to 1kg box and to the right shows Euro 37.35 for up to 2kg box. With current conversion rate, they are RM120 for up to 1kg box and RM180 for up to 2kg box when we used to charge only RM90 and RM135 for them.
We are deeply sorry for this, but we must increase the shipping rate as of today, following the current rates. New rates as below:
Up to 1kg: RM90 (old) -> RM120 (new)
Up to 2kg: RM135 (old) -> RM180 (new)
We understand the problems we might cause but for those who have already made their payments (shipping) are not required to pay more. This will affect future shipments starting of today. We hope we can compensate by serving better by ensuring the products to reach the buyers on time without delays and we will try to pack and handle the products better to reduce the chances for the products to get damaged during transit.
Thank you for your understanding.
Our parcels (shipped via Poste Italiane) normally will take up to 21 working days (excluding customs), which means, your parcel can even show up at your front door after 1 month. However, on average, these parcels reach the customers within only 2 – 3 weeks.
We’re currently facing delays with shipment that were posted right after the new year’s celebration and Christmas. Although several prevention tips have been applied, such as posting a week after that by informing the customers about these consequences, we apologize as some things just happen beyond our control.
This data is a sample taken from a shipment that was posted one week after the holidays.
Based on these tracing details, and after making some phone calls, the parcel is currently in between Italy and Malaysia. It has left Italy on the 12th of January 2016. It could be still in a warehouse, waiting for the traffic to ease up since the holidays.
However, this does not mean your parcel has disappeared and will not reach you at all.
Now, check this data from a parcel that was posted a week after the one above.
From these tracing details, the shipment did not encounter any problems with delays at all, and currently on its way to the buyer.
This is why we always inform our customers regarding pushing the shipment being posted earlier than they should be. It has happened before, and to us, this kind of long delay is a normal occurrence which should be expected.
To our customers with the parcels taking too long to reach them, here’s a few soothing words for you. Please don’t worry about the items you purchased inside the boxes. We have done all we could to ensure them lasting for up to 2 months without watering. If plants, they’re dormant, so they’ll consume water really slowly as they’re not even growing yet. If bulbs, well, dried bulbs don’t grow until you start planting them.
We truly hope we could do more but this situation is completely out of our control. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
